Yes. We admit it. Neither of us went for supper tonight. We apologise for this technical glitch in our blog.
However, we can’t just let this blog waste away, so we’re going to make up some predictions as to what you swallowed earlier this evening!
The pastry? Flaky, greasy and messy. The filling? Chicken. As usual. The mash? Lumpy, thick.
We’ll ignore the salads due to the feud between us and the (overrripe, mushy, soggy) tomatoes.
Sadly, the weekend is over, and that means tomorrow is Monday (Just in case you didn’t know). We’ll be seeing you in the dining hall at 07h00…

We’re not entirely sure why we called this blog what we did… Perhaps just a homesick moment? But anyway.. It was Mothers’ Day and it was lunch!
There was nothing too original about it, though. Standard Sunday midday meals are about as predictable as Jim Carrey movies! Roast chicken, or beef.. So, being the adventurous eater that she is, Chicken risked life and limb and asked for the vegetarian option! (And surprisingly got away with it – being blatantly carnivorous at all other meals…)
It’s obscure how a non-meat item of food can taste very much like meat! The wonders of Sechaba cooking!!
But, as always, the best part of Sunday lunch is the icecream! Chicken has discovered that it tastes even better with dollops of strawberry jam on top. Try it! And let us know what you do to make the food taste better!

With MooCow feeling a bit under the weather this morning (literally and figuratively), Chicken dashed off to breakfast to collect our daily rations!
Sunday breakfasts are normally pretty good – if you like runny eggs and raw tomato! Most things can be improved with a decent slice of toast, but that means wrestling with the infamous toasters. And probably burning your toast despite all that!
We think there will be a run on hot food today. Chicken even spotted someone with a steaming bowl of FrootLoops – you know who you are!

Last night there was a huge obstacle between us and the dining hall: the winter rains! Chow and Chicken carefully evaulated the weather - lots of wise nodding and deep thinking involved – then decided to not risk getting lost in the torrential downpour (Or blown away, in MooCow’s case…)!
But never fear – we did not go hungry! Being good students, we have a supply of 2-Minute noodles in the cupobard! Quick, easy, and, best of all, eaten from the comfort of bed! We hold a moment of silence though for those who braved the weather and maybe never made it… *Sigh. Sechaba isn’t worth that, guys.
As the evening progressed, C & C started feeling like adventurous cooks and made custard. Yes, ladies and gentlemen – it is possible to screw up instant custard. And still eat it afterwards…
